Terms & Conditions
Class Attendance
- • Students must arrive on time for lessons to ensure safety and minimise disruption
- • Late arrivals may result in shortened lesson time
- • Regular attendance is essential for progress and safety
- • Students should be collected promptly after lessons
Payment Terms
- • Term fees are due in full before the first lesson of each term
- • Trial lesson fees are payable on the day of the lesson
- • Payment plans may be available upon request
- • No refunds for lessons within commenced terms
Liability & Indemnity
Swimming and water-based activities involve inherent and unavoidable risks, including the risk of injury, illness, or, in rare circumstances, serious harm or death.
By enrolling in lessons, attending the premises, or allowing a learner to participate, students and their parents or legal guardians:
- • Acknowledge and accept all risks associated with swimming activities and the use of the facilities.
- • Confirm that participation takes place entirely at their own risk.
- • Indemnify and hold harmless Bluefin Swim School, its owners, instructors, employees, contractors, and agents against any claims, losses, damages, costs, or legal action arising from participation in lessons or presence on the premises.
- • Agree that Bluefin Swim School shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, or death sustained during lessons or while on the premises, except to the extent required by applicable South African law.
- • Confirm responsibility for ensuring that the participant is medically fit to take part in swimming activities and that all relevant medical conditions have been disclosed prior to participation.
This indemnity and limitation of liability apply to the fullest extent permitted under South African law. A separate indemnity and assumption of risk agreement forms part of the registration process and must be signed prior to participation.
Behaviour Policy
We expect all students to follow pool rules and treat instructors and other students with respect. Disruptive behaviour may result in lesson suspension for safety reasons.
Privacy Policy
Bluefin Swim School respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

We do not use your information for any purpose unrelated to your enquiry unless you have explicitly consented.

Your personal information is processed lawfully and transparently, in line with POPIA. By submitting your information, you consent to Bluefin Swim School collecting and processing your personal information for the purposes outlined above.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data will not be shared with third parties unless required by law or where necessary to fulfil your request, and only with appropriate safeguards in place.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, or disclosure.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as it is necessary to respond to your enquiry or as required by law. Once no longer needed, your information is securely deleted.

Cancellation & Makeup Policy
Lesson Cancellations
- • 48 hours notice required for lesson cancellations
- • Cancellations can be made by phone, email, or WhatsApp
- • Short notice cancellations forfeit the lesson fee
- • Emergency cancellations will be considered case-by-case
Makeup Lessons
- • One makeup lesson per term included for advance cancellations
- • Illness makeup requires medical certificate
- • Makeup lessons must be scheduled within the same term
- • Subject to instructor and pool availability
School Closures
- • We close on public holidays (makeup lessons provided)
- • Emergency closures due to maintenance will be rescheduled
- • Severe weather may result in lesson postponement
- • 24 hours notice provided where possible
Term Withdrawals
Students may withdraw from lessons with 30 days written notice. Fees are non-refundable once the term has commenced, but we may consider transfers to future terms in exceptional circumstances.
